ABOUT MRS. SALDO’S
Mrs. Saldo’s is built on balance, where tradition meets creativity, precision meets intuition, and comfort invites discovery. Chef-owner Rhea Rizzo draws on her heritage, travels, and personal history to create
food that is both intimate and refined.
Named over a glass of Saldo Zinfandel—saldo meaning “balance” in Spanish—the restaurant reflects her philosophy in cooking and life. Located in a quiet garden in Silang, Cavite, the space blends influences from Kyoto, Ubud, Napa, and Shanghai.
More than a restaurant, Mrs. Saldo’s is a third place where guests are known by name and each visit feels personal
and thoughtful.
About Mrs. Saldo’s Cuisine
At Mrs. Saldo’s, every dish begins with respect for tradition, craft, memory, and the guest. Rhea Rizzo blends formal training with personal experience, balancing classical French technique with creativity and care.
Influences from sambals to California produce are thoughtfully absorbed and expressed, with each plate designed to stir emotion, whether comfort, nostalgia, or wonder. Intuition guides her kitchen. Dietary needs and special requests are met with empathy. As both a mother and a certified raw vegan chef, Rizzo adapts with precision and warmth. Her cooking evolves with time, grounded in a quiet, steady pursuit of excellence.
About Rhea Rizzo | Chef & Owner, Mrs. Saldo’s
Rhea Rizzo’s culinary journey began in childhood, inspired by the women in her life who showed her that food is about love and resilience. She spent years cooking for her husband, Dave, their children, and expat friends, often recreating their childhood favorites to say goodbye before they left the Philippines.
Formally trained and deeply influenced by time in Bangkok, Napa Valley, Shanghai, and Ubud, Rizzo combines French technique with Southeast Asian flavors. At Mrs. Saldo’s, she honors tradition while continuing to innovate, leading her team with care, precision, and a dedication to creating meaningful guest experiences.
For Rizzo, the goal remains clear: to keep learning, evolving, and building a legacy for the next generation.
